 An Accurate Map of North America from The American Atlas, 1778.
This map was intended to show the British and Spanish Dominions in North America as agreed to by the Treaty of Paris in 1763. The Treaty has been reproduced on the map. The Atlas containing this map was produced by Thomas Jefferys, Geographer to King George III. The entire atlas is said to be one of the most important of the American Revolutionary War period. |  Published in 1799, London This is a composite of two hand coloured, engraved maps. It includes facts about the solar system, seasons and even a map of the moon. It was drawn by Samuel Dunn, a mathematician and mapmaker in London who was known for the precision of his drawings. |  This image depicts the Assam area of India in 1851 as well as camels passing ruins in Old Delhi. Assam is one of the major tea producing regions of the world. |
